Will AFC Ajax win tonight?

By | Sports and Activities

Who doesn’t like to watch a soccer game? Tonight Ajax -Tottenham (spurs). In Amsterdam we have a lot of football fans and everyone likes to watch the game in a Pub (cafe) also called bruin cafe.

Almost on every corner you will find a Pub, bar, restaurant to watch the match where you have to go there early otherwise you are not able to even see the screen. Besides the match it is also just fun to have a good beer and watch all the emotions take over.

Craving Chocolate? Visit Amsterdam!

By | Food & Dinks, Have a good time

Dam square, the red-light district and a billion museums. This is what you think when you think of Amsterdam. But did you know that Amsterdam is also considered one of the biggest players in the cocoa industry, as the port is the largest cocoa import location of the world.

With this information I thought, how about the chocolate market in Amsterdam?
Well, it’s good! There are several great chocolate places where you can eat, drink and use chocolate in several ways.

If you have a sweet tooth, Puccini Bomboni is the place to be! These artisan bonbons are daring and special with flavours including thyme, rhubarb and chili. No wonder this shop is in the top 10 best chocolate shops in the world.

At the Tony’s Chocolonely Super Store you can make your own chocolatebar!
And it is also very fun to discover how the bars are produced. Win-Win.

Entering Amsterdam by train? Make sure to stop by the Chocolate Company at central station. Here you can High Choc! Have a selection of different flavours of chocolatemilk, bites and everything that complements de cocoa-goodness.

If you don’t want to eat or drink chocolate, there are more options.
How about a chocolate oil massage at the Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam.
Guaranteed chocolaty smell and a beautiful radiant skin.

Off course there are more chocolatiers and coffee houses where you can enjoy good chocolate products.

Indulge and come explore Amsterdam’s chocolate world!

No more Apostille, Finally!

By | Expats
We are getting there. Are you registering any time soon or assisting clients with their Municipality registration in the Netherlands? From February 16th next year it is still mandatory to show your birth/marriage certificate, but these documents do not require an Apostille anymore. At least for all the EU countries.

You may have one or more public documents from a European Union (EU) member state that you want to use in another EU country. Until 15 February 2019 you will often require an apostille for these documents. However, as of 16 February 2019 you can use certain documents in all EU countries and in some territories directly, without an apostille. The documents need to meet certain requirements.

Documents must meet two requirements:

  1. The document is a public document
  2. The document is needed to verify certain personal details
The document is needed for certain elections

The new Regulation applies to all 28 EU countries, plus the following territories: the Azores, the Canary Islands, French Guiana, Gibraltar, Guadeloupe, Madeira, Martinique, Mayotte, Réunion and Saint Martin (the French side of the island).

The documents must have been issued in and must be used in one of these countries or territories.

The new Regulation does not apply to the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St Eustatius and St Maarten).
