Ellen van der Heijden
Relocation Consultant
“I was born in Nieuw-Vennep, a small town in the Netherlands, but I’ve called Amsterdam home since 2008. My career began in fashion retail, where I spent over ten years as a shop manager in a clothing and shoe store, an experience that sparked and shaped my passion for working with people.
Eventually, I transitioned into the world of market research, working as an international project manager. While I gained valuable insight during that time, I quickly realized that a full-time desk job just wasn’t for me. I craved a more dynamic, people-oriented role, and that’s exactly what I found at Jimble.
As a Relocation Consultant, I get to meet people from all over the world and help them navigate the exciting, and sometimes overwhelming, journey of finding a home. One of the most satisfying parts of my job is seeing everything fall into place for our clients, especially when we manage to find them a place that ticks all the boxes.
I would describe my work style as service-oriented. I feel the most fulfilled when I know I’ve truly helped someone settle into their new chapter. My colleagues would probably describe me as a hard worker with an endless sense of responsibility, someone who is not only reliable, but also genuinely caring and detail-oriented. I like to make sure nothing slips through the cracks, and I always aim to bring calm and clarity, even when things get busy.
If I were to relocate, I’d head straight to Southeast Asia or the south of Europe. I love the lifestyle in both regions, the sunshine, the pace, the culture. There’s something incredibly grounding about warm weather and warm people“.
